City Stats: Peoria, AZ: Land Values In Peoria, AZ
Peoria, Arizona was named, in 2008, one of money magazines top 100 places to live. This might have had something to do with the fact that the average sold price per acre, in 2006 was about a mere, Half-Million Dollars ($498,214.73 to be exact, cit. ARMLS). In contemporary Peoria, although the land values here have felt the same impact of the recession as every other city, the average sold price per acre is still impressive, boasting over $106,000; which is up from $80,000…just one year ago.
Peoria has a lot to be proud of, however, and although its name is a copy-cat of Peoria, Illinois (which is a play off of a Native American word for “prairie fire”), today Peoria is home to such crowd gathering places as the “Peoria Sports Complex“, which is home to The Mariners and Padres Spring Training Games, and “The Challenger Space Center” as well as the “Peoria Center For Performing Arts.” Peoria, Arizona also shares a “twinning” tradition with the borough of Ards, Ireland. Having a “twinning” means that local leaders, politicians, artists, and people of interest will have specialized “visitations” as a part of a project to promote cultural and even commercial ties.
